The BYU basketball season may not have the huge opponents that fans may like to see, however there are still a lot of really good games to watch in Provo.

When the 2017-2018 BYU basketball season schedule came out, fans everywhere were not too excited.

After all, the Cougars are coming off of arguably the most disappointing season in recent memory. Fans were hoping to see some big name schools and tournaments. Despite this though, there are still some really, really good games for fans this year.

Here are five the top five games that will be played in Provo that you shouldn’t miss.

NO. 5: UT Arlington, November 18

Last season, outside of beating No.1 Gonzaga there were not very many highlights on the season. Whether it was losing to UVU, San Diego or having no seniors in the starting line up multiple times, there was no too much to cheer for. Despite this however, there was always some hope and energy. That all ended when UT Arlington beat the Cougars 105-89 in the first round of the NIT.  Don’t get me wrong, UT Arlington is not a terrible team. They just sound like a team that BYU normally plays in the first five games of the season and beats by 30+ points.

This season, BYU basketball will get a chance at redeeming themselves. Don’t be surprised if in the pregame, the Cougars are as focused as if they are playing Gonzaga or Utah. This game is not a game that will  really help the Cougars on their resume if they win, however it could be a game where they could psychologically climb themselves out of the hole they dug themselves in last season.
