Number 1: Gonzaga, February 24

Gonzaga is going to be really good next year. Although they will probably not be undefeated or ranked No. 1 when they come to Provo, this game has the potential to be huge. If the Cougars are on the bubble (as they seem to always be), a win here could potentially give them a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Gonzaga’s head coach Mark Few has said multiple times that the hardest place for his team to play in Provo. The game is always crazy. Last year, students were camping out all week for this game even though the Cougars were not having a good year. If BYU basketball is doing well, then this game could possibly be the loudest game since when No. 9 BYU beat No. 4 San Diego State in 2011.

Not to mention, the BYU vs Gonzaga games always seem to be crazy. The records do not matter, this game is always entertaining.

Put last year behind

Yes, last year was painful. The offseason has been painful with Mika not getting drafted and losing multiple players to transfers. Looking back though is not going to help anyone. The Cougars are going to start this season 0-0 just like Gonzaga, North Carolina and Duke. Last year’s results do not carry over into this year’s, and neither should our attitudes. That’s what makes sports fun! Every season is a new start. So don’t look back, just enjoy the moment!
