No. 2: Confirmation that Matt Bushman is legit

Freshman tight end Matt Bushman turned heads back at BYU football’s spring game, but many were skeptical. Then the Cougars entered fall camp, and Bushman continued to make plays. But some still weren’t buying in.

Buy all the Bushman stock you can. Go ahead and hop on the bandwagon. Because the kid is very much the real deal.

The big-bodied tight end caught three passes on three targets in the first half for 44 yards. Devin Mahina – largely regarded as the best post-Dennis Pitta tight end that BYU football has had, only had four career 40+ yard receiving games.

Bushman needed just 30 minutes to get 40. For the game he finished with three receptions for 56 yards – leading the team.

The youngster will only get better with more experience.
