BYU football will meet the LSU Tigers on Saturday. Site Manager Nate Cunningham and contributor Josh Ellis return to answer five questions about the game.

Last week, BYU football opened the year with a 20-6 win over Portland State. The score wasn’t quite what many Cougar fans were hoping for, but a win is a win.

Now, BYU football has a much bigger task: LSU.

Once again, we’re going to try to answer five questions about the matchup with the Tigers. With any luck, we’ll do better than we did last week (we were high on Jonah Trinnaman).

We’ll begin with the run game.

Who leads BYU in rushing?

Josh: Kavika Fonua because of his size and strength against the LSU defensive line. Squally Canada could be a threat if he can break through to the second level of the Tigers’ defense, but I feel LSU will be able to contain him.

Nate: Okay, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and I don’t care – I’m still going with Riley Burt. You were on to something with Fonua, noting his speed. I don’t think BYU football will be able to out-bull LSU. So, run around them. Burt, to me, has the best odds of doing that. Let’s hope he’s healthy.
