BYU football took on the Utah Utes in the Holy War on Saturday night. Here’s what we learned from the Cougars’ seventh-straight rivalry loss.

BYU football has lost seven straight Holy War games.

Enter the barrage of Utah fans “little brother.”

The loss stings. Bad. There were some positives (we’ll get to those) and some negatives (we’ll get to those, too). But, just like last week, we learned some things from the game.

Here’s what they were.

Ula Tolutau is a player

About a month ago, I made the bold prediction that Ula Tolutau would lead BYU in rushing yards. It took the big fella a few weeks to get healthy, but he looked great against the Utes.

The 250-pound running back scored his first career touchdown in the third quarter, breaking a 24-drive touchdown drought for BYU football.

On the night, Tolutau took five carries for 25 yards and a score.

The offense is still clearly a huge work in progress, so there’s no telling what BYU football will do next week, but I’ll be disappointed if Tolutau isn’t in the plans.

For the record, he trails Squally Canada by just 81 yards for the team lead in rushing.
