No. 3: A new BYU

If you believe the players, then you believe a new BYU football team will get off the bus in Logan. According to a number of reports – including from Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune – Fred Warner and the other captains organized a players only meeting last Monday.

It apparently lasted about a hour, and was a way to rally the troops.

In Drew’s article, wide receiver Micah Simon explained that players who weren’t typically vocal addressed the team.

That’s good news for a team – at least from the outside looking in – appears to be lacking some vocal leadership.

Warner promised that fans will see “a different team this week.”

At this point, a win is a win. With Boise State and Mississippi State looming, getting a win over the Aggies is as important as it will ever be.

Hopefully the bye week allowed the Cougars to get on the same page.
