Dalton Nixon, Sophomore

2014-15 statistics: 27 games played, 9.7 MPG, 2.1 PPG 1.7 RPG

Nixon is another player returning from an LDS mission. He’s an interesting option for the Cougars, fitting the build of a small forward (6-foot-7, 215-pounds), but having the rebounding ability of a power forward.

Orem High School’s all-time leading scorer, Nixon was a rotation player in 2014-15 as a freshman, logging about 10 minutes per night.

I think he has a decent 3-point shot, but they didn’t fall for him that season (he hit just three of 18 attempts). In a perfect world, Nixon develops into a nice stretch forward for the Cougars.

Again, it’s tough to know how quickly the mission rust will wear off, but I think Nixon has the potential to contribute.
