Johnny Stanton, QB/LB

Yeah, you read that right. UNLV’s new starting quarterback is a converted linebacker. And not just any converted linebacker, but a linebacker who was playing on defense just a month ago.

Johnny Stanton replaced Armani Rodgers as the starter after Rodgers was injured, and has since led UNLV to back-to-back wins.

On the season, Stanton has completed 35-of-55 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns. He’s yet to throw an interception. The 6-foot-2, 235-lb. quarterback has also rushed for two touchdowns.

Stanton is a tough player to tackle, and is athletic enough to make some plays with his legs. Stopping him and the potent UNLV running attack will be a tall order. The Cougars will need to get disruptive and force some turnovers.
