BYU football: Three things to know for the UMass Minutemen
Young, Wild and Free
UMass running back Marquis Young is also putting together an impressive 2017 campaign.
The junior from New York – and converted wide receiver – has rushed for 100+ in three of his last four games. While he didn’t top the century mark against Mississippi State, Young averaged a robust 8.3 yards per carry on 11 totes.
He’s also a capable weapon as a receiver, as he’s averaging 2.6 receptions per game.
BYU football has struggled stopping the run at times this season. But if the Cougars can get UMass into uncomfortable downs-and-distances by stuffing the run, they’ll greatly improve their chances at earning their second-straight win.
