Gary Crowton, Stephen F. Austin Offensive Coordinator

This would be pretty crazy right?

Honestly, there’s probably no real chance Crowton returns to Provo after what surrounded his departure last time.

Understandably, BYU doesn’t enjoy dealing with gang rape scandals. Or three-straight terrible seasons.

That being said, there’s no way of knowing if Crowton would even want to return.

However, time tends to heal all wounds – and no one can deny Crowton’s success as an offensive coordinator.

Besides his well-documented tenure with BYU football, Crowton has been the offensive coordinator at Oregon, LSU, Maryland, Southern Utah and Stephen F. Austin. In addition to those roles in the NCAA, he was the Chicago Bears OC and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers OC.

So he’s got plenty of experience, knows how to recruit in the west and won a National Championship.

With the Lumberjacks, things haven’t been so hot. SFA is averaging just 19.6 points per game this season while averaging 115.5 rushing yards and 215.2 passing yards per game.

Again, it’s a long shot. But it’s possible.
