1 – Penn State

Penn State is entering a remarkable 15th straight Sweet Sixteen. It tops their previous streak of 11 straight appearances from 1990-2000.

The Nittany Lions’ dominance may not be as long-standing as programs such as Texas and Nebraska, but they’ve been the most dominant team in women’s volleyball over the last 25 years.

During that time, Penn State has advanced to the Final Four 12 times. They’ve won the NCAA title 7 times, including three straight from 2007-2009.

Their last title came in 2014, when they took down BYU in the championship match, winning their second title in a row.

If both the Cougars and Nittany Lions win their respective regions, they would square off in the Final Four for a rematch of that 2014 title match.
