BYU football alum Daniel Sorensen and his Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.

BYU football’s Daniel Sorensen (and Andy Reid) and the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Tennessee Titans in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday night.

Unfortunately for the BYU football alums, the Titans roared back from an 18-point deficit to defeat the Chiefs 22-21. Andy Reid is now 0-2 in home playoff games with Kansas City.

Daniel Sorensen played well in the loss, posting three total tackles and utterly destroying this Tennessee two-point conversion attempt.

In fact, the refs might have gotten that play wrong. It really looks like Marcus Mariota fumbled the ball there. As the play continued, the Chiefs returned this all the way to the end zone, which should have resulted in a two-point swing. But, the refs ruled him down.

Now, some attention will be turned to Reid. While his record with Kansas City is a good one (53-27), he’s been a let down in the playoffs.

Reid is just 11-13 in the postseason in his career and has just one Super Bowl appearance. It’s tough to say Reid is on any sort of hot seat at the moment. But, he does have a reputation as a coach who can’t win “the big one.”

Of course, if Reid was let go by the Chiefs, there would be a long line of suitors for the 59-year-old coach. Arizona, Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago and the New York Giants are all in the market for a head coach.

We’ll stay tuned for any news out of Kansas City. For now, just two former BYU football players remain in the playoffs. Kyle Van Noy with the Patriots and Taysom Hill with the Saints.
