BYU basketball’s all-time leading scorer, Tyler Haws, will be continuing his professional basketball career north of the border, signing with the St. John’s Edge.

For former BYU basketball star Tyler Haws, Canada is now home.

The Cougars’ all-time leading scorer previously tried his hand in the NBA G-League and in Europe, but is now a member of the St. John’s Edge.

The Edge are part of the National Basketball League of Canada, a 10-team pro basketball league north of the border.

Currently, the Edge are are 8-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 at home. At the point, there’s no telling just what role Haws will have.

For those interested in checking out the former Cougar, you can stream the Edge’s home games right here.

St. John’s Edge head coach Jeff Dunlap said the following about the addition of Haws (and Ransford Brempong) in an official team press release:

“We are excited by the experience and talent that both Tyler Haws and Ransford Brempong bring to this team and they are here to help us build a championship program. We are constantly scouting and are committed to putting the best possible product on the floor for the fans here in St. John’s.”

Haws joins another former Cougar with the Edge, Rashaun Broadus. Broadus played in Provo from 2005-07, before a suspension ended his career after he was arrested for a DUI. He averaged eight points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds during his career with the Cougars.

As a senior with BYU basketball in 2014-15, Haws averaged 22.2 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds per game. Over the course of his career with the Cougar Cagers, Haws averaged 19.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per night. When he graduated, he was 20th all-time in NCAA career scoring.

So even though it’s been awhile since most BYU basketball fans have seen Haws play, no one forgets how prolific he was/is as a scoring threat.
