For BYU football, recruiting never ends. As Signing Day 2018 approaches, the Cougars tried to bolster their 2022 class, offering Raleek Brown.

If there’s something you can’t knock BYU football head coach Kalani Sitake and his staff on, it’s recruiting. Sitake and Co. really love recruiting, meeting players and their families.

And they’re not just focusing on high school upperclassmen, either.

Enter 8th grader Raleek Brown. A speedy, smooth running back/wide receiver from Stockton, California.

Brown took to his Twitter account on Tuesday to make the announcement that he’d been offered a scholarship by BYU football.

Brown has been turning some heads for awhile now, but stood out immensely at the Football University Top Gun Showcase two years ago.

According to Youth1.com, Brown (a 2022 athlete) competed with the 2021 athletes – and was still named to the site’s All-Top Gun First Team.

Here’s what they wrote about him then. For the full story, click here.

“(Brown) can play just as effectively at running back or slot receiver, but one thing remains constant with Brown’s game – keep the ball in his hands. He’s too quick, has great hands and is silky smooth in his movements on the field.”

Pretty high praise.

Obviously, it’s tough to know how a player that young will turn out by the time he’s in college. Four years is a lot of time, but at this point one thing is pretty certain.

He plays like a man among boys. Just check out the videos below.

Two things jump out immediately from watching his highlights. He’s good really great foot speed and really solid hands. Brown certainly looks like a play maker.

Again, there’s really no way to project what his college career might be – but one can certainly see why the Cougars got him an offer. He may just turn out to be a stud athlete.

We’ll keep tabs on Raleek throughout his high school career in Stockton, California.
