See the country

With BYU football being independent, the Cougars travel to a lot of places. If a player were to sign today and play for four years, they would be able to travel to:

Tuscon, AZ

Madison, WI

Seattle, WA

Boise, ID

Foxborough, MA

Knoxville, TN

Toledo, OH

San Diego, CA

Honolulu, HI

Tempe, AZ

Minneapolis, MN

Stanford, CA

Dekalb, IL

Las Vegas, NV

Orlando, FL

Los Angeles, CA

Olympia, WA

Statesboro, GA

Waco, TX

Salt Lake City, UT

Logan, UT

Oh, by the way, there are still five more games that will be added.

By comparison, a Utah recruit that signs at the same time travels significantly less. Things become narrowed down to the locations of other Pac-12 schools and Dekalb, IL, Laramie, WY, Provo, UT, and San Diego, CA.

For a kid who may have never seen much outside of his home state this can be pretty attractive. Also, BYU football often times is not locked to a bowl game, meaning that they could travel anywhere once again for that game.

Utah, in the next four years, isn’t scheduled to play in a SEC stadium, Big 10 stadium or a Big 12 stadium, which for the most part gives an atmosphere that can not be matched anywhere west of the Rocky Mountains.
