While BYU Football Media Day may be meant for the media, there’s plenty going on for Cougar fans to enjoy as well.

For one day each summer, the focus turns completely to BYU Football.

It’s Media Day, a chance for fans to hear from coaches, players, and administrators, often getting at least one big piece of news along the way.

Much like the name, this is a day that’s built for the media. Writers and newscasters have the opportunity to interview the players and coaches for stories, features, and previews.

But while it may be built for the media, it’s a full day of fun for BYU fans as well, since they can catch the news and many of the interviews either on BYUtv or online.

So what should fans watch?

It depends on what they’re looking for.

If you want news and updates:

Watch the BYU State of the Program on BYUtv.

You can catch the broadcast at 9:00am MT, or a rebroadcast at 1:00pm MT.

This is an opportunity to hear from Athletic Director Tom Holmoe, Head Coach Kalani Sitake, and a handful of coordinators and position coaches.

When it comes to big announcements, this is where they’ll be. There’s almost always at least one announcement, and it there’s any number of possibilities this year.

With Sitake and his staff, you’ll often hear player updates, injury updates, positions changes, and more. Expect to see new Offensive Coordinator Mike Empey as one of the coaches featured in the State of the Program.

If you want to catch up on former players in the pros:

Watch Cougars in the NFL on BYUtv.

You can catch the broadcast at 2:00pm MT, with a rebroadcast at 6:00pm MT.

This program will have Fred Warner, Jamaal Williams, Bronson Kaufusi, and John Denney in-studio to talk about life in the NFL. Expect to see a lot of reminiscing about their Cougar playing days as well.

Along with those four, there will be recorded messages from Taysom Hill, Ziggy Ansah, and others.

If you want to get to know BYU players and coaches better:

Catch the web chats with Cougar players and personnel on YouTube.

At three different times during the day you can catch interviews that will be streamed on BYUtv’s YouTube Page.

Those times run from 8:00am-9:00am MT, 12:00pm-2:00pm MT, and 3:00pm-3:45pm MT.

All in all, you can catch more that 30 interviews between those three times, including Sitake, Empey, Tanner Mangum, and more.

If you need your football game fix:

Catch one or both game rebroadcasts from recent seasons.

If you’re a morning person you can catch the BYU vs. UMass game from 2016. It’s on BYUtv at 6:00am MT.

If that’s too early for you, then tune into the BYU vs. Boise State game from 2015. It’s on BYUtv at 3:00pm MT.

And hey, after last season, at least fans can watch two guaranteed wins.
