BYU Football: Scouting the Schedule – Wisconsin
By Shaun Gordon
Special Teams
Wisconsin brings back both their punter and kicker in 2018. Anthony Lotti (Jr.) will resume punting duties, but he’ll need to improve on a subpar 2017 season.
Rafael Gaglianone (Sr.) hit 16 out of 18 field goals last year. He’s a reliable kicker with a fairly strong leg, hitting a 52-yarder and making all four of his attempts from 40+ yards.
Outlook
Wisconsin enters 2018 with some question marks, especially on defense. If the Badgers can fill those holes, they’ll be in contention for the College Football Playoff once again.
Even if the defense takes a step back, Wisconsin will remain a Top 15 team. Plus, they’ve got a relatively soft schedule once again. BYU is their toughest out-of-conference game, and they avoid both Ohio State and Michigan State during the regular season.
The Badgers have a very good shot at running the table in the regular season once again, and it would take something close to a miracle for BYU to pull off this upset.
