Kyle Collinsworth and Elijah Bryant saw summer league action Monday

Both Kyle Collinsworth and Elijah Bryant played in NBA Summer League games on Monday, but neither former BYU Basketball star stood out.
Two former BYU Basketball standouts are trying to make their mark in the NBA Summer League, and neither has done much to set themselves apart.
On Monday, Kyle Collinsworth and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Golden State Warriors 91-71 in their third game of the summer league.
Collinsworth got 19 minutes of playing time, the most he’s played in any of the games so far. He scored 2 points on two made free throws, missing his three field goal opportunities. He added 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal.
More importantly, the Mavericks outscored the Warriors by 15 points while Collinsworth was on the court.
So far through three games, He’s averaging 2.3 points on 2/11 shooting.
Not great scoring numbers.
Fortunately, he’s also averaging 6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and the Mavericks have outscored their opponents in each game when he’s on the court.
Collinsworth made it to the NBA by being an all-purpose player, and he’s continued that during the summer league. Whether he’s done enough so far to earn another NBA contract remains to be seen.
Elijah Bryant saw action for the second time in three games for the Philadelphia 76ers. Once again, he played in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter. He got his first scoring opportunities of the summer league, attempting two three-pointers and hitting one, adding his second steal of the summer league too.
It wasn’t enough to help the 76ers win, though, as they fell to the Washington Wizards 87-75.
Both teams will have to wait until tomorrow’s games are over to know when they’ll play next. The tournament portion of the summer league start on Wednesday.
