In his final summer league game, Kyle Collinsworth had his best night, finishing with a double-double as he looks to find a home in the NBA.

Kyle Collinsworth saved his best NBA Summer League game for the tournament portion.

On Tuesday, Collinsworth finished with a double-double in the Dallas Mavericks’ 95-83 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

He finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and also added 2 assists and a steal. He went 5-10 from the field, and he hit his only three-point attempt of the game.

It’s the kind of performance Collinsworth needed, as he attempts to latch on with an NBA team. He was waived by the Mavericks last week to make room salary-wise for DeAndre Jordan.

With the Mavericks’ loss to the Bulls, the Mavericks are out of contention for the summer league championship.

In their three previous games in Las Vegas, Collinsworth did little to stand out. He struggled to shoot, although he stuffed the stat sheet as usual.

Through all four summer league games he’s played, he averaged 5.3 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.

Including the game against the Bulls, the Mavericks won two and lost two games, but the team outscored their opponents while Collinsworth was on the floor in three of the four.

It’s that well-rounded game that he’ll count on as he tries to find an NBA team to play with in 2018-19. In all likelihood, he’ll look to sign a two-way deal, similar to the one he signed with the Mavericks at the beginning of last season.

If not, he’ll have one of two choices – he can return to the G-League full-time or he can head overseas.

A game like he had against the Bulls may be just what he needed to keep his NBA career alive, but only time will tell.
