With the preseason Coaches Poll out, BYU Football will face three ranked teams and three more teams receiving votes.

The coaches tend to agree that BYU Football plays a tough schedule.

The preseason Coaches Poll was released on Thursday, and three Cougar opponents are in the Top 25. Two of those are in the Top 7.

Unsurprisingly, BYU didn’t find itself receiving any votes.

The top ranked team that the Cougars will play is Washington. They come in at No. 6 in the poll. BYU travels to play the Huskies on September 29th.

Right behind Washington sits Wisconsin at No. 7. The Cougars will travel to Camp Randall Stadium to take on the Badgers on September 15th.

A little farther down the list sits Boise State at No. 22. The Broncos have a good chance to earn the Group of Five’s New Years Six bowl slot, and BYU will travel north to take on the Broncos on November 3rd.

See a pattern forming?

That pattern continues when you look at the “Other’s Receiving Votes” section. If you extend out the poll using those, Utah sits at No. 29. Also a road game for BYU, thie Holy War ends the regular season on November 24th.

Moving down, opening game opponent Arizona received two votes, good for No. 49. That kickoff is less than a month away now in the Copper State.

Finally, Northern Illinois received one vote, putting them at No. 51. That’s the highest ranked home game for BYU, as the Cougars will host the Huskies on October 27th.

On the bright side, BYU fans will have a chance to watch the Cougars play some of the top teams in the nation. On the not-so-bright side, BYU fans will have a lot of travelling to do if they want to watch those games in person.
