Nearly all of the fall sports will be in full swing for BYU Athletics this week, including some marquee games across various sports.

This last weekend was nearly perfect for BYU Athletics:

It was the first week that all three sports were in full swing. This week swimming and diving will enter the picture with preseason events, and cross country will round out the fall sports next week.

Let’s look at what’s on tap for BYU this week:

Football

The Cougars get their first home game on Saturday against Cal. They’ll look to carry momentum from the Arizona win into their second game and get another win over a PAC-12 opponent.

Game Info

  • Cal vs. BYU – Saturday, September 8th at 8:15pm MT (ESPN2)

Women’s Volleyball

After a three-win weekend, No. 9 BYU faces another three-matches this weekend, heading to Wisconsin for the Marquette Tournament.

They’ll play twice on Friday, including a tilt with No. 7 USC, then take on host Marquette on Saturday. There’s a good chance that the Golden Eagles will be ranked in this week’s AVCA poll as well.

  • BYU vs. Syracuse – Friday, September 7th at 3:00pm MT

Women’s Soccer

The first game in this athletic year’s Deseret First Duel kicks off on Friday night, as BYU heads north to take on Utah.

Both teams currently sit at 2-2-1 on the season, and a win in this match would give the Cougars a high likelihood of entering West Coast Conference play in three weeks with a winning record.

Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving

The regular season for both Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving doesn’t start until September 21st, but they’re kicking off the season with an alumni match on Friday.

It’s the first chance for fans to catch both squads, as well as see the return of some former athletes.
