Of the eight former BYU Football players on an active NFL roster, six saw action in Week 2 while two sat out with injury.

While Week 2 isn’t completely in the books, all of the former BYU Football players in the NFL have logged their games for the weekend.

Six saw action, while two missed their game due to injury. Five former Cougars saw their teams win, two suffered losses, and one ended in a tie.

Let’s look at how they fared:

Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers)

Another double-digit tackle game for the rookie linebacker. He’s making an early case for Defensive Rookie of the year, and had 10 tackles, eight of them solo, in San Francisco’s 30-27 win over Detroit.

Ezekiel Ansah (Detroit Lions)

While Warner had a big day on the opposite sideline, Ansah wasn’t able to play in Week 2. He suffered a shoulder injury in Detroit’s opening game loss to the New York Jets.

Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers)

Williams had another do-it-all game in Green Bay’s 29-29 tie. He rushed 16 times for 59 yards and caught 3 passes for 12 yards.

He also continued to prove himself to be one of the best pass-blocking running backs in the NFL.

Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots)

New England’s defense struggled to stop Jacksonville in the Patriots’ 31-20 loss.

However, Van Noy did his part. He had six tackles, five solo, and picked off Blake Bortles early in the fourth quarter.

Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints)

Saints Head Coach Sean Payton continues to find new ways to get Hill on the football field, even though he’s still the third-string quarterback.

This week, Payton used Taysom as a kickoff returner, and Hill broke one kick loose for a 47-yard return early in the third quarter. The drive stalled just past midfield, but New Orleans still held on to win it 21-18.

John Denney (Miami Dolphins)

Denney was listed as questionable heading into this weekend, but suited up as the long snapper in the win over the New York Jets to keep his streak of consecutive games played alive.

Michael Davis (Los Angeles Chargers)

Davis saw time primarily on special teams in the Chargers’ 31-20 win over the Bills. He forced a fumble on a third quarter punt, but it was recovered by Buffalo in the end zone.
