Six out of the eight former BYU Football players on active NFL Rosters saw action in Week 4. And that’s about how many positions Taysom Hill played.

NFL Week 4 is in the books.

Of the eight former BYU Football stars in the NFL, six of them saw action over the weekend.

Of those six, four of them helped their teams to wins.

And Taysom Hill played six different positions on the football field.

Here’s how they fared:

Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints)

Didn’t think it was possible to see Taysom Hill line up in more positions for the New Orleans Saints? Guess again.

  • Hill completed his first NFL regular season pass on a fake punt, finishing 1/2 for 10 yards through the air.
  • He rushed four times for 28 yards.
  • He caught a pass for -4 yards.
  • He returned a kickoff for 18 yards.
  • He blocked as an H-Back.
  • He continued as a gunner on kicks and punts.

By the end of the season, Hill may become the first player in modern football to play every position on the field…

Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers)

Warner’s stat line is turning into a broken record. Once again he led San Francisco in tackles with another double-digit total (10).

So far this season, he’s positioning himself as a major contender for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots)

Van Noy didn’t light up the stat sheet in the Patriots’ 38-7 win over Miami, but he had a solid line. He recovered a Ryan Tannehill fumble in the 2nd quarter, and also added four tackles (two solo) and a quarterback hit.

Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers)

Williams had a rough go on the ground. He rushed 11 times for only 28 yards.

His value as a blocker will keep him in the game, but it’s very possible that other backs, such as Aaron Jones, will start to get more touches in the run game. Jones also carried 11 times, but for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ 22-0 win over Buffalo.

Michael Davis (Los Angeles Chargers)

After a string of DNPs by coach’s decision, Davis finally got playing time for the Chargers, primarily on special teams. He had one solo tackle and forced a fumble in San Diego’s 29-27 win over Fred Warner and the 49ers.

John Denney (Miami Dolphins)

Denney continued to build on the longest active consecutive games streak in the NFL, suiting up at long snapper.

Ezekiel Ansah (Detroit Lions)

Ziggy missed a third straight game after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 1. In his absence the Lions lost to the Dallas Cowboys 26-24.

Daniel Sorensen (Kansas City Chiefs)

Still no updated timetable on Sorensen’s return for the Chiefs. He’s missed the first part of the season with a knee injury, and the hope is that he’ll make it back for most of the second half of the season.

Next. Time for the Rest of the Tight Ends to Step Up. dark

Final note: The New York Jets added Bronson Kaufusi to the 53-man roster, making him the ninth former Cougar on an active NFL roster.
