Seven former BYU Football players saw action in NFL Week 9, highlighted by a head-to-head matchup between Cougar teammates.

With NFL Week 9 in the books, seven of the eight former BYU Football players on active NFL rosters saw action.

The big matchup took place on Sunday night, as Jamaal Williams and the Green Bay Packers faced Kyle Van Noy and the New England Patriots.

Van Noy’s team got the best of that one, and he had arguably the better game statistically.

Here’s a look at how all of the former Cougars fared:

Kyle Van Noy (New England Patriots)

Van Noy was on the winning side of the tilt with Williams and the Packers. He finished with a team-high nine tackles (three solo) in the 31-17 victory.

Jamaal Williams (Green Bay Packers)

Williams has seen fewer touches over the last few games, even though he’s still in on the majority of the Packers’ plays that involve a running back.

On Sunday night he rushed seven times for 34 yards and also caught two passes for 20 yards.

Fred Warner (San Francisco 49ers)

Just like a broken record, Warner led San Francisco once again in tackles in their 34-3 win over Oakland. He finished with seven total tackles and a pass deflection.

Warner’s 73 tackles are fifth most in the NFL, and he remains a serious contender for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Ezekiel Ansah (Detroit Lions)

After missing seven weeks with a shoulder injury, Ziggy finally returned to play in only his second game of the season.

He was pretty quiet statistically, finishing with one sack of Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins in Detroit’s 24-9 loss to the Vikings.

Michael Davis (Los Angeles Chargers)

Davis got his first career start in Sundays game, and he had his best statistical game of the season in the Chargers’ 25-17 win in Seattle. The former Cougar finished with eight tackles, seven of them solo.

Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints)

Thor-terback did just about everything besides playing quarterback in New Orleans’ 45-35 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He rushed twice for 10 yards, including a nine-yard fourth down conversion.

He was also targeted once in the passing game, returned two kicks for 49 yards, and continued to play in return coverage.

John Denney (Miami Dolphins)

Like clockwork, Denney suited up and fulfilled his duties as long-snapper. He continues to build on his NFL-leading consecutive games played streak.

Daniel Sorensen (Kansas City Chiefs)

Sorensen is back at practice with the Chiefs, but remained on IR in Week 9. They’ve gone one more week before they have to make the ultimate choice: either put him on the active roster or shut him down for the season.

It’ll be an important week for the former Cougar, as he needs to prove in practice that he’s ready to get back in action.
