The Offensive Commits

16 players are currently committed to BYU, 15 out of high school and one junior college transfer. The list includes a 4-Star recruit, 11 3-Star players, and four 2-Star commits.

Here are the offensive commits:

Jacob Conover – Quarterback

The prize of BYU’s 2019 class so far, Conover is a 4-Star quarterback out of Chandler, AZ. He’s the No. 10 quarterback prospect in the nation after leading Chandler High School to three straight state championships.

Chase Roberts – Wide Receiver

Roberts committed to BYU way back in June of last year, and he’s held firm. He just completed his senior season for American Fork High School with 1,771 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.

George Udo – Wide Receiver

Udo is a latecomer to football, but his athleticism and quick learning has earned him 3-Star status. The Berean Christian High School (Walnut Creek, CA) product committed this past Sunday.

Keanu Hill – Wide Receiver

Playing for run-heavy Trinity High School (Euless, TX) has likely hurt his recruiting, as he’s only earned a 2-Star rating despite consistent production. He’s 6’3 and uses his size well, so he has the potential to become an effective red zone target.

Ethan Erickson – Tight End

A 2-Star commit out of Kahuku High School in Kahuku, HI, Erickson battled injuries as a senior but still managed to haul in 8 catches for 118 yards in seven games.

Carter Wheat – Tight End

Another 2-Star tight end, Wheat also played in only seven games as a senior but still caught 27 passes for 304 yards for Red Mountain High School (Mesa, AZ).

Brock Gunderson – Offensive Line

Gunderson committed to BYU back in October, and the 6’4 lineman out of Cypress, TX earned a 3-Star rating and had offers from schools such as Purdue, Air Force, and New Mexico. He’s already stated that he’ll serve an LDS mission before enrolling.

Elijah Unutoa – Offensive Line

Unutoa also committed in October, and the 3-Star offensive guard also held offers from Cal, Iowa State, and others. He’s 6’5 and 300 pounds, so he’s got the measurables to anchor the interior line.

Bruce Mitchell – Offensive Line

Mitchell is a two-sport star who helped lead South Summit High School (Kamas, UT) to a state championship. The 2-Star prospect committed back in June.
