BYU Football officially released their 2019 schedule on Wednesday, and it’s exactly as expected. The Cougars will have plenty of chances to make noise if they win.
The 2019 BYU Football schedule is officially set.
BYU released the completed schedule on Wednesday, and there aren’t any surprises.
While fans have been able to track the opponents and approximate dates for this fall’s football slate, now they can start making concrete plans.
Times and TV channels are still up in the air, but most of those aren’t released until just before or even during the season.
Here’s the complete schedule:
- Thu. August 29 – Utah
- Sat. September 7 – at Tennessee
- Sat. September 14 – USC
- Sat. September 21 – Washington
- Sat. September 28 – at Toledo
- Sat. October 12 – at South Florida
- Sat. October 19 – Boise State
- Sat. Nov. 2 – at Utah State
- Sat. Nov. 9 – Liberty
- Sat. Nov. 16 – Idaho State
- Sat. Nov. 23 – at UMass
- Sat. Nov. 30 – at San Diego State
Once again, the Cougars will play a monster early schedule, with things getting lighter toward the end of the season. This time, though, three of their four early marquee matchups come at home.
In fact, this may be the best home slate BYU has ever had, welcoming Utah, USC, Washington, and Boise State, along with Liberty and Idaho State.
The season-opening Holy War with Utah is the only game that’s not on a Saturday this season. It’ll take place on a Thursday and the Cougars avoid any late Friday games.

And for the first time in years, BYU won’t face Utah State on LDS General Conference weekend. Instead, the Cougars have their first bye that weekend in preparation for a trip to South Florida. Their other bye comes in the final weekend of October, giving BYU two weeks to prepare for Utah State.
BYU’s 12 opponents in 2019 compiled a combined 87-63 record in 2018. While last season’s record isn’t much of an indicator of how those teams will perform this fall, it’s a good look at how strong this slate has the potential to be.
With all of their marquee matchups, the Cougars will have plenty of chances to turn heads nationally, but they’ve got to win some of those big games to do that.
