Former BYU Football star Kyle Van Noy played a big part of the New England Patriots’ win in Sunday night’s Super Bowl LIII.

Kyle Van Noy has been to the biggest stage in football for three straight years, and he’ll now have two fancy rings to show for it.

The former BYU Football star played big in Sunday night’s Super Bowl LIII as his New England Patriots won a defensive slugfest over the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.

Los Angeles’ high powered offense never could get going as the Patriots stifled the run and made the Rams one-dimensional.

Van Noy was a big part of that, and he spent a lot of time in the Los Angeles backfield. The former Cougar had one of New England’s four sacks, and managed to hit Ram quarterback Jared Goff three more times. He also had a tackle for loss, finishing with four total tackles.

The Patriot defense held the Rams to just 62 yards on the ground and Goff was only marginally effective through the air. He only completed 19 of his 38 passes for 239 yards and threw a late-game interception.

Los Angeles’ first eight drives all ended with punts, and only a Greg Zuerlein 53-yard field goal kept Rams from being shut out.

The Super Bowl win caps off a monster season for Van Noy, who’s becoming more and more integral to the Patriot defense.

He finished the regular season with 92 tackles, 55 of them solo, along with 3.5 sacks, an interception, and took a fumble recovery to the house for his first professional touchdown.

In three postseason games he added 16 tackles, three sacks, two tackles for loss, and a pass deflection.

He’s got one more year on his contract with the Patriots, so expect to see him back in the fall to try to make a fourth straight Super Bowl.
