The Dolphins are in a similar situation as the Rams in that they didn’t have a very strong linebacker core last season but they have other needs as they were not one of the best teams in the NFL like the Rams are. They are projected to take some offensive linemen in the first rounds and quite possibly search for a quarterback later in the early rounds. This would potentially leave Takitaki as a perfect fit in a fourth or fifth round if still available.

Last season, Kiki Alonso was a good linebacker totalling 125 tackles which was good for 15th in the league. However, Alonso is a pass defender, having as many tackles for loss last season as he did interceptions. Takitaki would have a real opportunity to become the third and short or goalline linebacker as those would play to his strengths as opposed to Alonso being a liability on short run defense.
