New Offensive Line Coach

With Coach Ryan Pugh leaving for Troy earlier this year, BYU hired former Texas State offensive line coach Eric Mateos. Mateos, having made coaching stops with the SEC’s LSU and Arkansas, will be taking over the offensive line responsibilities. Mateos called the decision to come coach at BYU a “no-brainer.” The offensive line is returning 3 starters who started all 13 games last season in Brady Christensen, Tristen Hoge, and Freshman All-American James Empey. Mateos says that he will be looking for the best five players to start on the line, and is look to play fast and with confidence.
