Injuries Everywhere for BYU Football
Multiple Cougars are not able to participate as they would like in spring practices.. We already mentioned QB Zach Wilson is recovering from a shoulder surgery and is sitting out. Other guys include LB Isaiah Kaufusi who he is recovering from an injury he suffered last season vs Utah, TE Moroni Laulu-Pututau is recovering from ACL surgery, fellow tight end Matt Bushman, and LB Zayne Anderson is also coming back from a season ending injury he suffered last season. With injuries, these players are looking to take more of a coach’s role this spring and help mentor some of the younger players.
Although this can be an issue for these players not getting reps this spring, it has a silver lining. This should be a great time to work on depth on the team as more players are able to get reps.
