4. Returning to the CBA/Europe

I don’t see this happening. At some point players need to make a decision between family and career and given his recent comments, it seems clear that Fredette is choosing family. Perhaps though Jimmer would decide to return to China for one more season in the ballpark of $2 million. In that time, he could put together his affairs and plan for his future doing whatever he decides to do. If this did happen, I don’t see it being for more than one season as sort of a transition year between professional basketball and what he decides to do next.

This option seems unlikely for another reason though. To this point, Jimmer’s purpose in the CBA was to get back to the NBA. With the language barrier, being away from family and no real shot on returning to the NBA, going back seems like an undesired option that would do nothing but get him some money.
