The Men’s Track team is breaking records all over the place and it is happening at the right time for BYU Sports.

Track and Field is arguably the most unique sport in college athletics. On one hand it is very individual and on another it is all about team. You have sprinters, distance runners, shot put throwers and jumpers that each with their unique skills  are asked to specialize in two or three events.

Historically, BYU the Men’s Track team has been really good at the distance events with only a few good sprinters and field event specialists coming in time to time but things are changing and it could lead to an all time best finish at the NCAA Championships next month.

Currently the team is ranked No. 3 which is the highest ranking that the team has ever achieved. Although the distance events are going to be carrying the team far in the points, the sprinting and field events are what is going to carry the Cougars to a possible National Championship.
