In the middle of the summer when not much is going on in the sports world, BYU Football gave us Media Day to get us excited for the fall.

BYU Media Day is perhaps the most underrated exciting time of the year for BYU Football. It is the only real time when huge announcements are made about the state of the program and normally is when big news comes out for the year. Obviously a player signing or when a new coach gets announced that happens quickly and doesn’t wait until Media Day to be made public. Just about everything else though does come out in the middle of June.

Sort of like General Conference, there are always rumors that get started that just simply can not be true. Being added to the Big 12, changing the colors to all royal or announcing that Lavell Edwards Stadium will become filled in with seats are all things that fans like to talk about year after year but don’t happen. This year was no different.

However, despite this, there were definitely some nice surprises and announcements that were not expected. Here are the top three.
