With BYU Football Media Day behind us, it is now 71 days until the next big BYU event, the Holy War.

Yesterday was BYU Media Day and it scored a B+ for me and what I was expecting to hear. Of course there is always the hope that BYU will announce changes to a new conference, a big game announcement against a team like Clemson or more expansions to the stadium, but the announcements that did come were better than expected.

Zach Wilson and about a dozen other players are healthy and ready to play, the new depth chart was released, ESPN contract deals are coming along, and BYU is making a lot more money than anyone probably thought they were.

With that behind us though, there isn’t too much to look forward to until the start of the season. It can be expected that the team is going to be about as closed to the media as possible during Fall Camp because of the importance of the Utes, and quite honestly, half the media, if not more would be willing to publish stories that could help the Utes in their preparation for the season.

Today’s player played in a time when BYU Media Day wasn’t really a thing, scouting the teams out to the extent of sending reporters down to the opposing team wasn’t happening and the Holy War was not as lopsided.
