Isaac Rex

Tight Ends “Normally” aren’t taken early in the draft, but every once in a while you get one drafted early. Take Kyle Pitts from Florida as a perfect example who went No. 4 overall this year. Isaac Rex still has a few years before he will likely declare for the Draft, but when he does he may be a very attractive option.

In 2020, Isaac Rex led all freshman tight ends in touchdown receptions this past season with 12. When you consider that the Cougars had a lot of different weapons and options with Dax Milne, Gunner Romney, Tyler Algeier and Lopini Katoa, the fact that Rex had 12 TD’s is very impressive.

Obviously with a new QB, it is anyone’s guess whether Conover/Hall/Romney will target the tight end as much as Wilson did, but if they do, Rex could be an “All-time” tight end for BYU. With the NFL starting to lean more towards tight ends as receiving threats in recent years, Isaac Rex could find himself drafted in an early round.
