No. 5 Maverick Stadium – Utah State

History: 2 Points

Prestige: 1 Point

Rivalry/BYU History: 2 Points

Summary: Yes, Maverick Stadium somehow beat out a Big 12 school. Maverick Stadium was built in 1968 giving it much more history than Baylor or many of the other schools on this list. Unfortunately, there haven’t really been very many historic games on this field. Non Conference P5’s rarely make the trek out to Logan and the Aggies have never been in a conference big enough to have “Big Games”.

The Cougars have played in Maverick Stadium 19 times and have won 14 of those matchups, making the history at Maverick Stadium historic, however relatively lacking in true rivalry. The biggest exception to this was in 1982 when the Cougars were on their way to becoming a truly national brand and lost to the Aggies who were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association, or equivalent to today’s C-USA Conference.
