BYU Football: 3 Keys to success in 2021

Moment of Impact
The offensive and defensive lines both took major hits this offseason. While the offensive lines still has quite a few players with a lot of game reps, the defensive line seems to be in a bit of trouble. If both of these lines play even average, I think that BYU is going to be fine.
On defense, the linebackers are good enough to pick up the slack and still be very effective, but the defensive line can’t just be pushed around every play. If that happens, the linebackers will have to cheat to cover the run opening up the passing game to opposing offenses. If the defensive line can hold their ground, the linebackers can dominate on the sides and help out in pass coverage.
For the offensive line, whether it is Jaren Hall, Baylor Romney or Jacob Conover, they need to be able to give the QB time in the pocket and create some kind of running lane for Katoa and Allgeier. If they do that, the receivers will get open and the running backs are good enough to make something out of even a little space.
