No. 7 Arizona

The opener. Allegiant Stadium. New uniforms. New QB. Making a statement that 2020 wasn’t a fluke. All of this is leading up to the season opener, and very little focus is given to the opponent, Arizona. If this matchup was any other week of the year, Arizona would probably be ranked No. 8/9 alongside Washington State, however since it is the opener, and with all of the other storylines going on, this game becomes a very intriguing and interesting matchup.

Unfortunately, this game won’t do much good for the Cougars if they win. If they take down Arizona (the worst projected Pac 12 team), it will be an expected result. If they lose however, the amount of negative media towards the Cougars and their 2020 success will be awful to endure. Essentially this game is interesting for what we hope won’t happen as opposed to the actual matchup.

Either way, the storylines coming into this game are going to be fun, and hopefully we can say it was fun after the clock hits zero.
