Conclusion

The AAC and BYU need to come together. BYU needs to swallow their pride and stop pretending that the Power Five is on the edge of their seat to invite the Cougars to join. While I don’t think it is impossible that the Big 12 could expand and open up a spot for BYU Football, it isn’t something that is likely going to happen.

The AAC needs to stop pretending that they are good where they are. This conference is so close to being at the P5 level, they just need a few more things to get over the top, and I believe that adding BYU’s market, location, history, recruiting, and prestige may be just enough to do that.

This deal would help both teams, and while it wouldn’t be flowers and rainbows in every direction, it would put both organizations in a great position to do great things in the future.
