Conclusion

The Power Five invite doesn’t appear to be coming for BYU. In total, I’ve got about a 25% of BYU getting invited. On the flip side, I think that if BYU really pushed for the AAC, they would probably a 60% of joining, even if they demanded they could keep their ESPN deal, which I think they could keep if they agreed to play the 10:00 PM ET game for home games.

While I think that BYU needs to look for opportunities to join the P5 conferences, the AAC is not a bad choice and has a much clearer path to the Playoff. While some fans claim that the ultimate goal should be following money and playing around the country, isn’t the goal to win? Isn’t the goal to be a national champion? As it stands, Independence isn’t going to allow for that.
