BYU Football is less than 75 days away but has still not announced the starting quarterback.

There is a long standing joke that the most popular player on any football team is the backup quarterback. No matter (almost) how good the starter may be playing, the imagination of fans convinces them that the backup would be even better.

That is a tough problem to have though when there isn’t a starter, or even backup named yet. Sure, some seasons there have been quarterback battles, but with the exception of 2016 when there was real debate between Taysom Hill and Tanner Mangum, there has at least always been a likely frontrunner.

However this season things are seeming very different. Jaren Hall, Baylor Romney, and Jacob Conover all seem to be on a somewhat level playing field. This has left fans debating which quarterback should be the starter however, unlike some teams looking for a quarterback, BYU appears to have a good quarterback it’s just a matter of figuring out who should start.

While I believe that Jaren Hall will be the starter, let’s take a look at the reasons for and against each quarterback.
