Mid American Conference (MAC)

Likely Ranking: Champion or 2nd place

Biggest Competition: Buffalo

The MAC in recent years has gone from a dumpster fire to an almost alright conference. Historically, the MAC was the leftover conference from the Big 10 and has the issue of a bunch of clustered teams within a small geographical area (E Michigan, W Michigan, C Michigan, N Illinios etc…). This makes recruiting difficult and these teams often beat each other up resulting in a bunch of 3-4 loss teams.

BYU should do very well in this conference and likely win three out of five years. With BYU having a unique recruiting demographic, the Cougars would have no problem fielding the best team in the conference.

The part of the conference that would make things interesting for BYU is “MACtion” that takes place on Wed/Thurs nights. The short turnaround for games results in a lot of upsets in this conference, and BYU would probably not be an exception to that rule.
