BYU Football: 3 questions we should be asking
By Adam Gibby
Can BYU get Pressure on the QB?
Looking at all the positions on the team it seems like BYU Football is strong in almost all position groups except for one, the defensive line.
While the defensive line returns plenty of experience and talent, as it was last year this was the one area that seemed vulnerable to opposing offenses. While it may have been part of Illasi Tuiaki’s strategy to drop eight and make it tough on the passing game, the Cougars still should have gotten more pressure on the QB, especially with the kind of offensive lines they were going against.
Against Power Five teams, BYU will have a tall task against some of the biggest and strongest lines in the country. Against G5 schools, dropping eight and giving QB’s all time to throw worked, but against Washington State, Baylor and Utah, giving QB’s time to throw even with dropping eight will result in a lot of passing yards and touchdowns.
If BYU can get any kind of rush at all the secondary and linebackers will make the defense possibly a top 25 defense in the country.
