7 – SEC Takes Over Completely

In this model there is no right answer to what is going to happen. Essentially in this model, the SEC decides that for the betterment of the conference they want to completely dominate which means having some teams join other conferences and inviting other teams from other conferences to join (Florida State, Miami, Clemson etc…).

This would make the Big 10 also make drastic changes likely dropping Rutgers, Indiana and others in pursuit of Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Iowa State and others. While the Big 10 would not be able to keep with the SEC, this would leave the ACC and Big 12 completely destroyed, likely leading to them joining one conference together and becoming a really good but not elite P5.

Again this would force the Pac 12 to likely expand also to 16 teams again adding BYU, Boise State and two other schools.

Likelihood of happening: Unlikely, for now

I do believe that the SEC is going to make a move, but I don’t think they will start to dump teams…yet. At some point, I think that SEC is going to make this step, but it won’t be related to this change with Texas and Oklahoma.
