Analysis
BYU Football is clearly the most historic program out of the nine teams. While West Virginia has more Top 25 finishes, they have won less bowl games, have never had a National Championship or a winner of a major award.
TCU is the only team in the Big 12 with a National Championship, but that was in 1938 and let’s be honest if we are reaching 83 years ago for something it’s a bit of a stretch. That being said, TCU is clearly the closest team to BYU Football with the Doak Walker Award around the same time as BYU, a similar amount of AP Top 25 finishes and bowl wins (although a better winning percentage)
Overall, from a historic standpoint, the Power Rankings would be:
BYU
TCU
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
Baylor
West Virginia
Kansas State
Kansas
Iowa State
