The Final Drive of the First Half

There isn’t very much data on this, but so many games are won or lost in the final two minutes of the first half. Last year, it seemed like BYU Football scored in the final two minutes of the half in just about every game. The one game that really sticks out in them not scoring was against Coastal Carolina.

For an opposing team, the worst feeling that they can have going into a half is having just been scored on, especially if they are kicking off to start the second half. On the flip side, there are very few bigger momentum boosters to a team going into a half than having seven more points than they did five minutes before.

If the Cougars are able to get points on the board right before the end of the half, they will win more games than what is currently being projected.
