Name a Starting Quarterback

Yes, I understand the idea and benefit of not naming a starter until the team actually takes the field during the first game, but I don’t think that BYU Football should do this.

From all the info that has come from the coaches, the three way race for the starting QB is leaning heavily in Jaren Hall’s favor. For the first week of Fall Camp the coaches should split up reps between the three quarterbacks to see if anything has changed in the three months the team hasn’t been officially meeting. If things are still how they were back in spring, then for the next three weeks give the Hall (or whoever it is) the full reigns to the offense.

BYU Football should beat Arizona regardless of whether Hall, Romney or Conover are playing, so why keep it a secret?

Even if BYU doesn’t officially announce the starter, the coaches should be giving so many reps to the starter that everyone will clearly know who it is going to be. That is how you set up best for the season, at least this year.
