7 – Offensive Line

Much like the defensive line, the offensive line is tough to get a read on during practice. While the offensive line is more “live”, knowing that the defense won’t actually tackle the quarterback does make a difference. Throw on top the fact that much of early practices are focused on assignments as opposed to actually making blocks, and we get a lot of mystery.

While the first string offensive line looks really solid, the backups are full of players that the common fan has likely never heard of. If the offense is run a certain way and players can be healthy, the Cougars may not have to sub in the backups often. But knowing the Roderick offense and that injuries do happen, the lack of depth and questions lands this position into the 7th spot.
