3 – Linebackers

The linebacker position in the last few years has been the best position for the Cougars. This group should be the heart of the defense this year with Chaz Ah You and Payton Wilgar leading the charge with players like Jackson Kaufusi, Keenan Pili and Josh Wilson hoping to move up the ranks and make a big difference as well.

The interesting part of the linebacker position is that often times the linebackers become part of the secondary as Tuiaki likes to run the defensive ends as more of linebackers opening up the linebackers to drop back in coverage.

Don’t be surprised if the linebackers end up with more pass breakups and interceptions than the secondary this year.
