Georgia Southern

This normally would be the definition of a trap game. Flying to southern Georgia to take on a team that runs a unique offense with USC and the end of the season looming just sounds like the perfect storm for BYU.

Seven out of ten times BYU loses this game. Georgia Southern is a pretty decent team who likes to hog the ball. Last year, the Golden Eagles ranked 15th nationally in time of possession while the Cougars struggled at 57th.

This will not be one of those seven games because of the BYE week. The Cougars will have so much time to implement a defensive scheme to stop Georgia Southern that despite outside distractions, the Cougars will roll to a massive win heading into the season finale. That is often how option teams work, a team either defends it  well or they don’t. BYU most definetly will.

Prediction BYU 45 Georgia Southern 7

Record: 9-2

Ranking Range: 15 – 19
